The goal of therapy is to provide a space and warm space to create change for you, your child, and your family. As such, the therapeutic process has some key components to help you or your loved one. As we like to say, you are the experts on your child, family, and yourself while we are the experts in mental health. Together we can make a world of a difference.
The therapeutic process can typically include:
Intake with parents and/or the individual
We start with gathering all relative history to help us understand your concerns, strengths, and areas for growth. As part of the intake a brief assessment is included to help us determine what support is best.
Treatment planning
Once the intake and the observations have been completed, we would work together on establishing a treatment plan that highlights measures of progress, goals, and outcomes. Both the provider and the family would agree on the working therapeutic plan.
Treatment begins
As we continue to work together, we will regularly discuss treatment outcomes, learn new strategies, and use the person’s and/or family’s strengths to continue to reach their goals.
Our approach
Research tells us that one of the most important aspects of therapy is the relationship between the provider and their client. As clients, you and your family have a voice and are encouraged to be active participants, where much of the practice occurs outside of the room with regular feedback during session.
